The beating that Gio Gonzalez and the Washington Nationals put on the Chicago Cubs Saturday afternoon was nothing compared to the grizzly scene that played out in the fourth inning presidents race at Nationals Park.
With Teddy Roosevelt in the early lead, an orange, oversized bear cub came running from the home bullpen and shoved the Rough Rider to the ground, but the other presidents exacted revenge on Teddy’s behalf, as George Washington finished the job with a body slam.
Abe and Tom pushed and shoved to the finish line, and Abe eked out the victory to extend his lead over Teddy in the season standings.
