The drama Friday night at Nationals Park wasn’t limited to Michael A. Taylor’s tenth inning heroics.
Presidents race newcomer Calvin Coolidge won his third straight race, thanks to interference from the other “new” racing president, William Howard Taft.
Teddy Roosevelt held the lead out of the starting gate and looked to be cruising to victory, when Taft slammed him into the wall.
Taft then bragged on Twitter: “The time has come for #Calvin and me to take over!,” and Teddy responded with a call to arms by the original Rushmore Four.
