As many had predicted, Thomas Jefferson finally nabbed his first presidents race victory of 2015 on Wednesday night, as thousands of University of Virginia students and alumni filled the stands at Nationals Park for for College Rivalry Night.
With UVA’s Cavalier mascot and Virginia Tech’s HokieBird holding the finish line tape, the sage of Monticello came from behind to take a huge lead into the home stretch, but then turned and tripped just before the finish line.
It looked for a moment like Jefferson would lose his shot at victory, but he sprung to his feet and fell over the finish line in a pile of founding fathers.
