With his recent surge in the presidents race standings, fans at Nationals Park had begun wondering if anything could stop Abraham Lincoln.
The answer arrived Thursday night in the form of three time Pro Bowl linebacker Lavar Arrington.
It began with a misdirection play, as William Howard Taft darted toward left field, leading Lincoln and the other presidents in the wrong direction.
The move gave Taft enough time to race ahead to the finish line and pull Arrington from the stands.
Arrington, who played six seasons for the Washington Redskins and is now a radio host on DC’s 106.7 The Fan, went straight for Lincoln, executing an open field tackle, then chasing the other presidents back toward the bullpen.
“That’s how you do it!,” Arrington declared as he walked off the field.
