The Washington Nationals returned home Friday night expecting to face the Los Angeles Dodgers’ newest baseball phenom Yasiel Puig. They didn’t expect Los Angeles to bring along their even newer L.A. phenom, the Sharknado.
In just over a week since premiering on the SyFy Network, the made-for-TV disaster flick about a freak hurricane that hits Los Angeles and floods the city with man-eating sharks, has become a social media sensation.
In the fourth inning of Friday’s game, the Sharknado hit the Washington Nationals presidents race, appearing mid-race from the home bullpen and spinning its way through the field, knocking down everything in its path.
Well, almost everything. Abe Lincoln slipped past the Sharknado’s grasp, but the freak phenom chased after the Great Emancipator, taking him down as he fell over the finish line.
