The Washington Nationals have scheduled a press conference for Monday in which they will unveil “Washington, D.C.’s biggest summer concert and
first-ever musical performance at Nationals Park.” Exciting news for the city and for the team. The Nats crew unfortunately needs more experience handling sold-out crowds, and this should expose more people to our great new ballpark, and how easy it is to get there.
“first-ever musical performance at Nationals Park.”
Nice to see the Nationals finally admit what the rest of us have known all along, namely that the performances of the Star Spangled Banner at the ballpark last year really bit the big one.
But although I wasn’t there myself to hear it, I bet everyone who sang for the Pope last April is at least a bit miffed at this statement.
Yes, I believe Plácido Domingo and Denyce Graves were among the singers. That quote is a bit of a strained attempt by the Nats PR office.
