Update: Nats Antagonist Designated for Assignment

Just a 1/2-day after Mets pitcher Nelson Figueroa allowed six runs then antagonized the Washington Nationals players in post-game interviews, the Mets designated him for assignment.

Darn. Thousands of childish, unprofessional Nats fans were looking forward to seeing him pitch in Nationals Park.

Presidents Race Fan

I am a huge Washington Nationals fan (and partial season ticket holder) whose son fell in love with the Presidents Race from that first day in July, 2006 when big-headed Teddy first came up short. It's wonderful to think that such a fan-friendly tradition could become established in DC so quickly. Who says DC doesn't have great fans? I hope that our chants of "Let Teddy Win!" during the Presidents Race will continue to add fun and excitement to Nationals Park, and help turn more and more young people into Washington Nationals fans.
