The Nationals returned to Nationals Park Monday to kick off this week’s homestand on National Lucky Penny Day, and racing president Abe Lincoln decided to do his part by dropping a penny on the warning track for the other presidents to find.
Unfortunately the penny, which is supposed to bring good luck to the finder, didn’t do it’s job, as Abe simply raced ahead to steal the victory.
