Video: Teddy’s body slam on the un-racing sausage

They say baseball isn’t a violent sport, but followers of the Nationals Presidents race during the just-completed homestand might disagree. After Teddy Roosevelt put the full body slam on “No-lish sausage” Sunday, I was overwhelmed by requests from bloodthirsty fans to see it again in slow motion. Presidents Race Fan

I am a huge Washington Nationals fan (and partial season ticket holder) whose son fell in love with the Presidents Race from that first day in July, 2006 when big-headed Teddy first came up short. It's wonderful to think that such a fan-friendly tradition could become established in DC so quickly. Who says DC doesn't have great fans? I hope that our chants of "Let Teddy Win!" during the Presidents Race will continue to add fun and excitement to Nationals Park, and help turn more and more young people into Washington Nationals fans.
