With first place in the standings up for grabs, George Washington left no opportunity for monkey business, breaking away from the pack early and leading wire to wire, but that didn’t prevent Thomas Jefferson from shoving Teddy Roosevelt to the turf as they approached the outfield corner. What Tom has against Teddy, we don’t know.
It was hard to see Tom’s transgression from the first base stands, but the second video courtesy of Nats Fan and YouTube member shmaggie23 reveals all!
Unlike George, the Nats couldn’t hold their lead, as a late rally by the Florida Marlins ruined a quality outing by Craig Stammen. The homestand ends this weekend with two matinees: Pups in the Park day on Saturday, followed by Mothers Day Sunday.
