Washington Natinals? Nats’ uniforms misspelled.

Washington Nationals outfielder Adam Dunn's uniform was misspelled to read NatinalsAs was first reported by the intrepid Chico Harlan, for several innings of tonight’s game vs. the Florida Marlins at Nationals Park, Nationals players Adam Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman sported uniforms with the word “Nationals” misspelled. The “o” was missing, making it “Natinals”, as you can see in this image from the broadcast.

The players switched jerseys mid-game after the error was noticed.
[May update: the story won't die]

The game was a heartbreaker, with Joel Hanrahan blowing his first save opportunity in the 9th inning. The 4th inning presidents race offered no theatrics — just a convincing wire-to-wire victory for Thomas Jefferson, with Teddy pulling up the rear.

Si.com’s Inside Baseball calls presidents race a conspiracy

Today over at SI.com, Inside Baseball’s Joe Lemire throws a nod to LetTeddyWin.com, calling the Washington Nationals presidents race an “apparent conspiracy,” and quotes Nationals pitcher Joel Hanrahan, who predicts that Teddy Roosevelt will never win: “No, never. Absolutely not. I gave up watching that race. I can’t take it any more. At least give me an effort, will you?”

The “Spring Postcard” column is a worthy read for Nationals fans, most notably for Lemire’s account of Assistant General Manager Mike Rizzo’s week in the Dominican Republic.

Teddy Roosevelt working the red carpet

An alert reader and Washington Nationals fan has pointed out that our favorite presidents race loser Teddy Roosevelt will be making a campaign stop at the “Hollywood Vibes Come to K Street” Red Carpet Charity Party on Thursday night at the Lotus Lounge on K Street in Washington, DC.

The benefit event supports the Childrens Miracle Network and other charities supported by local athletes and broadcasters including Taryne Mowatt, Sara Walsh, Doc Walker, Brian Mitchell, Chick Hernandez, and others including Washington Nationals Roger Bernadina and Joel Hanrahan. Teddy Roosevelt will be among the red carpet guest arrivals between 9:00pm and 11:00pm on Thursday night. The way things are going, it should be more entertaining than watching game 5 of the ALCS.
